Please get in touch with a member of the committee, and we can add you to the event organisation group.

Milford Seniors Tournament 2025

It’s always fantastic to see Southbourne players out and about, proudly supporting tennis across the region and this year’s 24th Annual Milford Seniors Tennis Tournament was no exception, with a record number of entries and plenty of standout performances from our members. Here’s how our players got on…

🎾 Kirsty Holmes and Cleo Skilton were crowned Women’s Doubles 45 champions.

🎾 Pat Brown won the Men’s 60 Singles, knocking out the tournament’s No.1 seed.

🎾 Pat Brown and Richard Henshaw reached the Men’s 60 Doubles final.

🎾 Kirsty Holmes and Pat Brown also battled their way to the Mixed 45 Doubles final, adding to a strong tournament showing for both players.

🎾 Jane Carter and Mel Castagna reached the semi-finals of the Women’s 45 Doubles.

🎾 Rachel Best and Sarah Winter pushed hard in a tense quarter-final match, just falling short in the tie-break.

A huge well done to all who competed and great to see Southbourne so well represented, both on the courts and in the results!

Club Champs 2025

This year’s Club Championships  is well underway. Thank you to all who have played your matches on schedule, and continued thank you to Zoltan for your hard work on this.

Extra Court Availability
Further to the Committee deciding that from now until at least the end of the 1st week in June, we will make (where we can) 1 extra court available for playing Club Champs matches from each club evening, Friday evening & Sunday morning sessions.

The below courts will show as booked for club champs matches on clubspark and members are requested to reach out to Zoltan (zolko282@yahoo.co.uk) to request the available court for your club champs match . Zoltan will then change the booking to your name. This is to avoid non-members booking any free courts that should be used for club champs matches.

  • Mon evening: 1 court for Club Champs matches
  • Tue evening: 1 court for Club Champs matches (when no home match is scheduled)
  • Wed evening: 1 court for Club Champs matches
  • Thu evening: 1 court for Club Champs matches
  • Fri evening: 1 court for Club Champs matches

COURT SIDE NEWS & REMINDERS

Clubhouse Use

If you’re using the clubhouse, please help keep it looking its best by tidying up after yourself. Wipe down any surfaces, pop things back where they belong, and take any rubbish with you.

Remember, if you’re the last to leave, don’t forget to lock up to make sure everything is secure. You can lock the patio doors with the key on the string from inside the clubhouse and then ensure the indoor control panel shows the moon symbol to lock the front door as you leave.

Thanks for helping keep our club clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone!

Court Brushing

Courts 1-3 were recently re-sanded, therefore please ensure you use the brushes by Court 1 to brush the courts before and/or after you play, this will ensure the sand remains evenly distributed across the courts and helps protect the surface from uneven wear.

Use of Club Balls

When using the Courts outside of designated club session play, please ensure you are using your own tennis balls. Club balls should only be utilised for designated club sessions and club matches.
